The 4-day Backcountry Avalanche Course is New Zealand's best introduction to avalanche safety skills and backcountry travel. This course is for recreational snowboarders and skiers, who want to stay safe and tour in uncontrolled terrain.
The course takes place in the Mackenzie Region on and in the backcountry of the Ohau Ski area. and includes slack-country and heliski terrain work.
Our base for 3 night is a cosy lodge house in Lake Ohau Alpine Village.
